Bilateral cooperation is a strong axis promoted by the Social Commission of the European Chess Union that I chair. This is a first successful example that calls for others!

Eloi Relange, President of the French Chess Federation and Vlad Ardeleanu, President of the Romanian Chess Federation Federația Română de Șah signed on December 7 at the French Embassy in Bucharest a cooperation protocol in the presence of His Excellency Laurence Auer, French Ambassador to Romania.
This agreement, which I had the pleasure of initiating as President of the “Santé Social Handicap” Commission of the French Chess Federation of the FFE and Chairman of the Social Commission of the European Chess Union, covers four areas :
• The development of Chess in schools and in the educational paths of young people;
• Promoting the benefits of chess practice for health, social and disability;
• Technical and sporting exchanges for the engineering of championships and the training of players;
• Promoting healthy eating among chess players.
Concrete actions will begin in December 2022 and will allow the two Federations and their affiliated clubs to grow together through beneficial actions.
It is necessary to underline the remarkable support of the Embassy of France in Romania for the organization of this event and the support in the future projects of cooperation in the field of chess.
This signature followed an event organized at the premises of the French Institute in Romania, supported by @Julien CHIAPPONE-LUCCHESI, Counselor for Cooperation and Cultural Action at the Embassy and Director of the French Institute in Romania.
Many chess personalities in Romania were present and actively participated in this event, in particular Grand-Master Alin Berescu, Vice-President of the FRSAH, and Gabriel Grecescu, Secretary General of the FRSAH, who is a pivot in the system. Doctor Maurice Bensoussan, psychiatrist and member of the FFE’s Health and Social Handicap commission led the working session on the commission’s federal programs with Franck Droin.
